Performance Hairstyles

Performance hairstyles are different from classroom hairstyles in that we require very precise placement, no flyaways and no adornment. Hair should be very secure and should not move. Your dancer’s hair should look as good at the end of the performance as it did at the beginning.

Please prepare to practice the hairstyle prior to performance day.

You will need the following to match your dancer’s hair color:

  • Ponytail elastics
  • Bobby pins and or heavy duty U-pins
  • Hair net (for bun hairstyles)
  • No additional hair adornment is permitted

In addition:

  • Fine toothed comb
  • Water misting bottle
  • Hair Gel (we recommend Got2Be)
  • Hair Spray

All hairstyles begin with a proper ponytail.
If the ponytail is loose or off-center, the bun will be loose or off-center.

You will need to watch the video links below to see how to complete the required styles including how to properly use U-pins.
