Company dancers are expected to maintain near-perfect attendance. Enrollment in the Pre-Company program is a commitment to developing the essential habits of consistent attendance, punctuality, and preparation that are expected of company dancers.
Pre-Company dancers should:
- Arrive 10 minutes early to class.
- Use the restroom before class begins.
- Be dressed and ready, with shoes on, when the teacher calls the class in.
- Notify the studio by email or text if your dancer will be absent.
If a dancer has more than two consecutive absences, a private lesson may be required to help the dancer catch up and remain on track with the class.
If your child misses two classes in a row, a private lesson may be required before returning to Pre-Company class. These lessons are given by our student teaching assistants and are $5/half hour.
In order to be enrolled in the Pre-Company program, the dancer must participate in the Studio Showcase at the end of the season. Until the date is announced, please keep the last week in May free from any conflicts.
Pre-Company dancers must attend the dress rehearsal for the Studio Showcase.
Dancers are expected to follow the Company uniform for all classes, with hair neatly pulled back off the face and neck. This promotes focus, discipline, and a polished appearance consistent with Company standards.
For performances, families will receive detailed information in April or early May outlining required hairstyles and any shoes that must be purchased for the Studio Showcase.
